Should they stay or should they go? The act of immigrating; the passing or coming into a country for the purpose of permanent residence. There are a number of situations in our world today that I completely disagree with, like: gas prices, paying taxes, our low minimum wage, and I could go on and on about my dislikes but one of my biggest disagreements would definitely have to be the immigration system. Lots of people I know are not familiar with it, or what it does, and some don’t even know what deportation is. Deportation is the expulsion of someone from a place or country. This mainly refers to illegals. For the last couple of months many people, mainly Hispanics, have sadly gone through this unfair process. All over the United States, they’ve been forced back to their countries having to leave their unfulfilled dream, which is being able to live the ‘American life,’ they’ve had to leave everything they’ve worked for, and some have even had to leave their families. When immigration is asked on why they’re sending the illegal’s back to their countries, all they say is that by them just being here they’re breaking the law, that all they come here for is to ruin our society, and that they’re just not allowed here. Well okay I’ll admit it coming to the United States illegally IS breaking the law, but they wouldn’t have to break any law if they were simply just allowed to be here, so they can work the many jobs that the people actually allowed here don’t want to do. Lots of jobs like working in the poultry, construction, or even mowing lawns are some of the many jobs that illegals are taking because no one else really wants them. And some of the reasons is because they’re either too heavy for them or the low salary, but for some reason complaints keep on coming and coming about how the illegals should leave those jobs for people that can legally work them. Without the immigrants working those jobs, who else would? I don’t think anyone else would like to be breaking their backs picking up chicken, or being out in the hot sun eight hours a day, seven days a week for such a low salary. So in other words you can pretty much say they’re doing lots of people a favor by taking those jobs. And about the whole ruining our society thing come to think about it they don’t have to come over here to get that done because someone who’s legally allowed to be here has done that already (Bush). Im not saying that they’re innocent or that they would never do anything to hurt someone but not all of them do, some actually come to work so they can send money back to their families in their home countries.
Those who come all the way over here to attend school, also work very hard so they can hopefully attend college, but that’s also impossible for them because of their illegal status. I know that with that they feel like they’ve just wasted their time going to school because they think about how they’ve worked so hard but really don’t get anything at the end. I personally think that they should have a chance to go to college because there are a lot of people who are able to attend college because they are actually legal, but choose not to because they either don’t want to or don’t plan on going. Lots of people who know that am from here and hear me talk about how I dislike the immigration system always ask me why I care so much about it when I’m not an immigrant. Well I come from immigrant parents, and almost all my family members are illegal and the fact that they don’t have the same rights as I do get me really upset because I think that every one should have equal rights whether they are from another country or not. I feel like everyone should be able to have access to anything, with or without a little green card with nine digits on it.
